Itinerary

diving Where better to embark on the challenging PADI Rescue Diver program than the idyllic location of Dahab on the Sinai Peninsula. Formerly a simple Bedouin settlement, the town has now become a thriving mecca for divers worldwide. Take to the crystal clear, warm blue waters and learn new skills as you complete the Rescue Diver course off the beaches in Dahab.

Day 1: Arrive in Sharm-el-Sheikh

We meet you in Sharm-el-Sheikh airport and transfer you to your hotel in Dahab (approx 1&1/2 hours). An extension to the Pyramids, Sphinx and Museum in Cairo is available if you wish.

Day 2: Dahab

We take you to the dive centre, Dahab Divers, this morning which is located in the Lighthouse area of Dahab where we will introduce you to the team there. They will go through the various components of the Rescue Diver course with you and then you will begin the course after this.

Day 3: Dahab

The Rescue Diver course is one of the more challenging PADI courses but also one of the more rewarding courses too. During the course you will learn various methods of rescuing divers and also various techniques for self rescue. By the end of the course you will be a more confident & safer diver.

Day 4: Dahab

You continue the course today by practising further rescue skills for divers both at the surface and also underwater. Your instructor will show you how to deal with exhausted & panicked divers and also the different ways you can deal with any situation.

Day 5: Dahab

Today is the last day of the rescue diver course and you will put all the skills and knowledge you have learnt over the last few days into practise. Your instructor will improvise various rescue scenarios and assess you on the way you react and deal with each of the situations. There is also some theory and a final exam to sit before you can become a qualified rescue diver.

Day 6: Dahab

This will be your last day of diving today as 24 hours must be allowed after your last day before you fly.You can pre-book extra dives with the dive centre whilst in Dahab. If you still have any theory to go over then your instructor may ask you to complete this today.

Day 7: Dahab

Today is left free for you to relax after the course or you can try out some of the other activities and options available in Dahab, such as the Jeep Safari to the Coloured Canyon or a day tour to Petra in Jordan.

Day 8: Dahab

Your time is free today until we transfer you to Sharm-el-Sheikh airport in time for your flight home.

Searching for a missing diver in the Eel Garden, Dahab, EgyptWe begin the tour in Sharm el Sheikh, where you are met at the airport and then transferred to Dahab. Once in Dahab, we’ll introduce you to the staff at the Dive Centre and you’ll spend the next 3 days acquiring the skills necessary to become a Rescue Diver. 





Egypt ToursThe PADI Rescue Diver course comprises mainly in-water training that teaches you the skills necessary for the prevention and management of scuba diving emergencies. The course itself covers: (a) self Diver in distress in the Blue Hole, Dahab, Egyptrescue, (b) diver stress, (c) diving first aid, (d) emergency management and equipment considerations, (e) swimming and non-swimming assists, (f) panicked diver response, (g) underwater problems, (h) missing diver procedures, (i) surfacing an unconscious diver, (j) in-water artificial respiration, (k) dive accident scenarios, (l) first aid procedures for pressure related accidents and (m) exits.


This is an extensive course, which not only provides you with the skills to become a safer diver, but also teaches you to focus on other divers and identify and prevent diving accidents before they occur.
This tour is run on a private basis, so please contact us to check availability first. Options are available to start and finish the tour in Cairo if you would like to see some more of Egypt while you are here.

Otional extras

Listed below is a selection of optional extras that can be added to your tour. Just select which options you want to add to your booking when you reserve your tour, or alternatively just let us know and we'll add them to your booking. Further options are also available when you get to Egypt (such as Sound & Light shows, dinner cruises, scuba-diving courses).

Day trip to Petra

This is a long but exciting and rewarding day trip from Dahab to the fabulous & colourful rock-carved city of Petra in Jordan. You leave Dahab very early (around 05.00am) and drive to Taba (approx. 3 hours) or a short 1-hour ferry to Aqaba in Jordan (no visa fee for most nationalities). Then it is another drive (approx. 1 1/2 hrs) into the mountains and the city of Petra. We include a half day inside the site, including a 2 1/2-hour guided tour, lunch, entrance fees, and some free time to walk up to the High Place of Sacrifice or the Monastery with its huge carved facade and stunning views over the Jordan valley. We then make the drive & ferry crossing back to Dahab, arriving late in the evening. Note: The option price is based on doing this option on a sharing basis with other travellers not booked with Egypt Uncovered. We can also run the tour privately for you, but for a higher price - please contact us for details if required.

Single Supplement

Extra Night in Cairo pre-tour - 3-star

This option adds an extra night in Cairo to the end of your tour, staying in a 3-star hotel. Your departure airport transfer is included. If you would like to add more than one extra night, please make a note when you make your reservation and we will add them to your booking.
