Tour description

Patterns
This is a private Cairo tour which includes both your arrival and departure airport transfers and can be run on any day. If you would like to join a group for the sightseeing tours, we have departures on some of our longer tours on Saturdays that this tour can run alongside.

PatternsThe tour starts with a tour to the Great Pyramids of Gisa, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, and the nearby ancient and enigmatic Sphinx. We also visit the sprawling site at Saqqara, which is home to Zoser’s world famous step-pyramid.  You'll learn a lot here about the history of pyramid building and how the beliefs of the ancient Egyptians inspired their creation.

PatternsOur next tour is in the city itself, where we explore the most interesting sites, including some beautiful mosques, Coptic Cairo, the huge and famous Egyptian Museum with its Tutankhamun display. We also have time to wander around the sprawling Khan-el-Khalili bazaar before finishing the tour with an evening dinner cruise on the Nile accompanied by traditional song and dance. The tour ends with a transfer back to the airport for your departure, and can be extended with extra days to allow you to visit Alexandria, Wadi Rayan and the Valley of the Whales, or other sites.

Otional extras

Listed below is a selection of optional extras that can be added to your tour. Just select which options you want to add to your booking when you reserve your tour, or alternatively just let us know and we'll add them to your booking. Further options are also available when you get to Egypt (such as Sound & Light shows, dinner cruises, scuba-diving courses).

Single Room Supplement

If you are a single traveller, then you need to add this single room supplement option to your booking (we do not share rooms on our Superior tours). Triple rooms are not generally available on this tour, so if you have an odd number of people in your party, you will also need to add this option. Please contact us if you have any queries about room allocations.

Extra Night in Cairo pre-tour - 4-star

This option adds an extra night to the start of your tour, staying in the same hotel as the main tour itself (subject to availability at the time of booking). Your airport arrival transfer is still included.

Extra Night in Cairo post-tour - 5-star

This option adds an extra night in Cairo to the end of your tour, staying in a 4-star hotel. Your departure airport transfer is included. If you would like to add more than one extra night, please make a note when you make your reservation and we will add them to your booking.
